Boro travel to Glanford park for their final pre season friendly against League one outfit, Scunthorpe. A league game two seasons ago, Scunthorpe flirted with relegation in their first season back in the third tier under the guidance of Alan Knill. The Boro have enjoyed playing at Glanford park in their recent visits, beating them 2-0 on both occasions in their first two seasons in the championship. Scunthorpe will be a decent test for Middlesbrough as they prepare themselves for a capital one cup first round tie against Bury at the weekend. Last seasons top scorer, Andy Barcham and new signing Mike Grella the ones to watch for the home side. Boro bring a mix of youth and experience to game, with the squad including, Jason Steele who is back from Team GB duty. It also has Bruno Pilatos and Curtis Edwards who look to make a mark on the first team after impressing for the reserves in the past few years. Mowbray has also opted for some experience, picking Bailey, Hoyte, McManus and McDonald for the game.
